Maintenance Supervisor

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and repaired. This role involves managing maintenance schedules, performing hands-on repairs, and leading a team of maintenance technicians. 

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that production operations run smoothly by minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment safety, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervision of Maintenance Team
    • Lead, supervise, and assign tasks to the maintenance team.
    • Train and develop maintenance staff to ensure efficient operations.
    • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  2. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machinery, equipment, and building facilities.
    • Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment is properly inspected, serviced, and repaired.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, problems in a timely manner.
    • Ensure timely resolution of any equipment breakdowns or failures to minimize production downtime.
  3. Inventory and Spare Parts Management
    • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance work.
    • Order and track spare parts, ensuring critical items are available when needed.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers for parts and maintenance services.
  4. Maintenance Planning and Reporting
    • Create and update maintenance plans based on production schedules and operational requirements.
    • Track maintenance tasks and repairs.
    • Prepare and submit maintenance reports to management, detailing work completed, costs, and any issues encountered.
  5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
    • Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting safety briefings.
    • Coordinate with safety teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the maintenance and production areas.
  6. Budget Management
    • Assist the Manager in preparing and managing the maintenance budget.
    • Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Ensure efficient use of resources, materials, and labor to keep costs within budget.
  7. Equipment Upgrades and Improvements
    • Participate in identifying and implementing equipment upgrades and improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Provide recommendations on new equipment purchases or process improvements to enhance production capacity.
  8. Vendor Management
    • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks that cannot be handled in-house.
    • Ensure contractors comply with company policies and complete work on time and within budget.
  9. Perform any organizational activities as per the given instructions from the supervisory body.
