Quality Control Officer

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for ensuring that all products meet the established quality standards and regulations. Oversee the entire production process, monitor the quality of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods, and work to identify any deviations or defects. This role ensures that finished goods produced meet both company standards and regulatory requirements for safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. 

KEY DELIVERABLES

  1. Monitoring Production Processes
    • Oversee production processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
    • Perform routine inspections of Quality control equipment and procedures to maintain consistency and product quality.
    • Ensure that production lines are running efficiently and within the required parameters.
  2. Quality Inspection
    • Conduct quality checks at all stages of production (raw materials, in-process items, and finished products).
    • Test products e.g pellets for properties such as moisture content, durability, size, composition etc.
    • Record test results and make recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
  3. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality issues.
    • Prepare reports on quality performance and production trends.
    • Work with production supervisors to ensure all deviations from quality standards are documented and addressed.
  4. Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all products and equipment meet legal requirements.
    • Stay updated on industry standards and regulations for pellet production.
  5. Problem Solving and Corrective Actions
    • Investigate quality issues and customer complaints related to product quality.
    • Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to implement corrective actions.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality.
  6. Training and Development
    • Train production field and quality control staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  7. Health and Safety
    • Ensure that all quality control procedures adhere to health and safety regulations.
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the production team.
  8. Perform any other organizational activities as per the given instructions from the supervisory body.
 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality control or assurance role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards, testing methods, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
