REPORTS TO:

SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

PURPOSE:

To ensure employee experience programs are carried out in a satisfactory manner and in accordance with the Company’s policies & procedures and all applicable employment laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Strategies– Implement Human Resource strategies and ensure maximum value delivery to clients, employees and the Company.      

Labour Laws– Ensure adherence to applicable employment laws, rules, regulations, agreements, policy and procedures in all matters pertaining to employment.                                                              

Performance Management– Supervise, monitor and evaluate employees’ performance in line with client requirements, set standards and company policies. Oversee attendance, authorised absence from work such as leave and sanctioned work-away-from-the -office under any prevailing pandemic rules           

Team work– Encourage and oversee employee participation and communication in day to day work tasks.        

Industrial Relations– Observe established industrial relations laws, practices and promote industrial peace.

Employees well- being– Oversee periodic meetings with established employee welfare committees to promote engagement between employees and management. Supervise housing and welfare requirements and ensure maximum benefit to both employees and the company. Supervise medical centre services for employees. Provide counseling where required.

Health and Safety- Assist in outlining work methods and assist in supervising their implementation to ensure observance of safety protocols and maintenance of safe working conditions. Report all accidents, incidents and near-misses.                                                                                     

Client Relations– Ensure cordial and mutually beneficial company/ client working relationships.

Audit Compliance- Assist in clarification of standards with relevant audit organizations to ensure accurate and timely implementation and co-ordination of client’s service audit.               

Disciplinary procedures– Ensure policies, procedures and fair practices are upheld when dealing with employee excesses or misdemeanours and in determining disciplinary actions.

Delegation and Staff Development– Delegate and provide assistance and guidance to HRAs and HR interns.                                                                           

Legal Compliance– Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives with a view to enhancing value to clients and improving employee experience.                        

Reporting– Evaluate all tasks assigned to you and provide regular reports to management as directed.                

Any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant will be required to be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a member of IHRM.
CHRP holders or candidates progressively working towards this qualification will have an added advantage
