When\nhiring an intern it is important to hire a person that you can learn from; a\nperson that has the ability to execute tasks and contribute to the company. Should they\nbe paid? Are they entitled to any work benefits? Like in any case, it\u2019s\nimportant to know the law. It is\nimportant to distinguish between paid and unpaid interns and who exactly fall\nin these categories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\"><li><strong>CREATE AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">Before\nyou hire interns for your company or organisation, you must first define the\nspecific job and the skills your internship program will feature. Set up\ntraining courses so that the interns can have an opportunity to learn how to\nperform various tasks within the company and grow their skill sets.<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>\nHave the intern set out specific goals and learning objectives they hope to\nachieve through the internship as well. This will motivate them to take the\nprogram seriously and give them a sense of responsibility and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">It\u2019s also important to look at your organisations\u2019 needs and determine what you hope to achieve with an internship program.
