A key aspect of this conducive work environment is the\nrelationship the employees have with each other. When employees have a good\nworking relationship, they are more productive as this promotes communication,\ncollaboration and cooperation among them. In today\u2019s article we\u2019ll look at why\nemployee relations are important in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>HAPPY EMPLOYEES MAKE A HAPPY ORGANISATION<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nhappier your employees are, the more productive they will be. It has been\nproven that the most successful companies know how to manage their employee\nrelationships in order to maximise on their satisfaction and ensure employee\nretention. When employees are happy in their workplace, they work harder to\nensure the company as a whole succeeds. There are a number of ways an organisation\ncan ensure that their employees are happy. Employers can show their\nappreciation work well done and rewording exceptional performance. The company\ncan also organise team building trips to build and improve the relationships\namong employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>DISCOURAGE\nCONFLICT <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nmost cases, conflict is something we all try to avoid especially so in the\nworkplace. It is important to note however that sometimes disagreements may\narise due to the presence of diverse individual opinions and work strategies.\nSometimes, this conflict may be productive as it may lead to new ideas\neffective problem solving skills and also provides an opportunity to explore\nand expand their creativity. Employees who relate well with each other are able\nto explore their opposing ideas in a civil manner which in turn fosters\ninnovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>EMPLOYEE\nEMPOWERMENT<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\npositive relations among employees provides a great social circle and also\nopens up avenues for the company\u2019s success. When employees are able to openly\nconnect with each other and network, they are able to grow separately from the\ncompany and this may then provide them with the tools they need to venture into\nnew individual projects. When employees know that they can count on the support\nof their colleagues, they are more likely to work towards the success of the\ncompany because it ensures that everyone will succeed. companies can also\nempower their employees by allowing them to take part in certain decisions that\naffect them and providing learning opportunities that will enable them to\nachieve their career goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>REDUCES\nTHE WORKLOAD<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Research\nhas shown that one of the leading causes of burnout is work overload and many\nemployees experience this at least once over the course of their careers. A\ncompany with positive employee relations is able to identify the top performers\nand split different workloads among them. When everyone is on the same page,\nand working together to achieve a common goal, tasks become manageable and less\ndaunting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>REDUCED\nEMPLOYEE TURNOVER<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employee\nturnover refers to the gradual loss of talented employees in a company. High\nemployee turnover rates can negatively impact an organisation as it puts a\nstrain on the company\u2019s resources and remaining employees as the increased\nworkload fall on them. When employees feel valued, they will utilise their\nskills to ensure the success of the company. a company with good employee\nrelations will have attractive benefits and wages that encourage employees to\nstay on.
