We sit down, take note of and, examine our lives. We\nthink about what we\u2019d like to change and improve so, we set ambitious goals we\nhope to achieve at the end of the year. Naturally, the same goes for business\nowners, company heads and entrepreneurs. These goals often sound like \u201cthis is\nthe year my business will take off\u201d, \u201cthis is the year we hit that financial\ngoal\u201d, \u201cthis is the year we expand\u201d. However, by the time the end of the year\nrolls around, we look back and we have barely accomplished these goals. Thus re-starting\nthe cycle of putting these goals off for the next year. The thing about goals\nis that they are just a list of wishes that can only be realised when matched\nwith effort, time and hard work. In this article we\u2019ll look at some of the ways\nin which you can stay on track and stick to your business and career goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>BE\nREALISTIC<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">Every\nbusiness owner wants to achieve various financial goals and bring in money from\ntheir business. Most especially you want to grow and branch out. You must remember\nto remain realistic so as to avoid disappointment and quit your race. For\ninstance, set a financial goal based off the profits you made in the previous\nyears and aim to do better. If you\u2019re an entrepreneur just breaking into the\nbusiness, you could begin by setting small monthly goals that you keep up with.\nRemember the smaller and more realistic the goal is, the more likely you are to\nachieve it. The more goals you achieve, the bigger<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\"><li><strong>KEEP TABS ON YOUR GOALS<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">After\nsetting your business goals, it is important that you keep referring back to\nthem to ensure that you\u2019re still on track. One way to do this is by taking some\ntime during company meetings to address these goals and find out where everyone\nis in relation to the set goals. This mission driven stratiegy will motivate\neveryone to work hard towards achieving these goals. Ensure that all your\nactivities are in alignment with your goals and take small steps each day to\nmake sure you follow through. When you make decisions and take action based on\nyour goals, you are more likely to \u2018fail forward\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\"><li><strong>SHARE YOUR GOALS<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">Sometimes\nsetting goals and actually following through on them can be very difficult\nespecially if we have no one to hold us accountable. Sharing your goals with a trusted\nindividual(s) with a great work ethic and mind-set can be very helpful in this\ncase. This could be family members, friend(s) or even trusted colleague(s).\nSharing your goals creates another level of accountability and expectations.\nThe knowledge that other people are aware of your intentions and are there to\nhelp you allows you to stay focused on the actions steps. While this trick can be\neffective, remember you\u2019re the most important componenent. Don\u2019t saddle yourself\ndown with judgements and fears of disappointing your accountability partner. You\ncan\u2019t shame yourself into your dream life! &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\"><li><strong>DELEGATE TASKS<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">When\nrunning a business, it often feels like you have to carry the all the weight of\nensuring that goals are met. This is not the case. Business or company goals are\na team effort. Delegate responsibility to other members of your team and staff \u2013\nhave them set goals based on the main business goal. &nbsp;You\u2019re more likely to achieve goals by\nproperly delegating tasks in addition, it promotes employee satisfaction by\npromoting a sense of purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\"><li><strong>GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">When\nyou finally accomplish your goals \u2013 especially the small ones, be sure to treat\nyourself. Celebrating yourself and your milestones is an important aspect of achieving\ngoals. It boosts your confidence and encourages you to set even more ambitious\ngoals. Motivate yourself by celebrating your journey forward. Making\nresolutions and sticking to them is no easy feat and so it is essential you\nappreciate the effort you\u2019re making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">We\nall have goals and ambitions we hope to accomplish in this new year and that\u2019s fantastic.\nAt the end of the day however, it is up to you to ensure that you stay focused\nand disciplined enough to achieve your goals. These tips are to make your strategy\n&nbsp;more structured but only if you put in\nthe work as well.
