ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading producer of fresh food in the East African region. We have been retained to identify and recruit an energetic, proactive, and result-oriented Sales Manager for its hospitality industry clients in the hotels, restaurants and catering trades.

The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying new prospects in the area and cultivating new accounts while strategically collaborating with partners in retaining existing accounts. 

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the overall sales targets with a heavy emphasis on developing and sustaining daily sales volumes into the HORECA Trade, thereby securing value addition for the Business in addition to the Wholesale Trade undertaken at the Distribution Centre.

To be accountable for achieving sales goals and maximizing revenue. This encompasses providing direction and leadership to the sales team to generate new business, retain superior levels of customer satisfaction, and continually expand the company’s market share.

 

KEY DELIVERABLES:

Sales execution:

  • Maximize Revenue: Optimize sales volumes and average selling price (ASP) and minimize product losses in order to maximize revenue from available production.
  • Organize Sales Executives, ensuring high levels of product knowledge and a full grasp of the commercial pricing strategies.
  • Demand planning & allocation: Efficiently organize allocation and delivery of product across customers.
  • Customer acquisition: Utilize salesforce and network to identify and win new customers as required to meet sales growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement across sales processes in order to achieve high levels of coordination and professionalism.
 

Customer relationship management:

  • Regularly solicit (and act upon) customer feedback in order to understand their needs and to build satisfaction and
  • Resolve any customer disputes or complaints
  • Ensure business dealings and sales logistics are smooth – it should be easy for the market to buy our products!
  • Monitor customer purchasing trend and seek to help customers grow their
  • Ensure that the broader management team truly understands our customers and the key drivers of customer

Strategy and development:

  • Advise the Executive team on pricing, sales channels, and marketing
  • Share key insights relating to market trends, sales climate, consumer product preferences, and competitor actions
  • Translate the strategic goals into operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in sales and profit by identifying & optimizing promotional
  • Team Management and
  • Contribute to clear definition of roles in the functional spaces where Sales connects with other Company
  • Maintain strong, regular, productive communication between Sales and adjacent departments, at both a managerial and operational
  • Interface efficiently and collaboratively with Finance, Logistics, Security, and Marketing, plus any other departments as
  • Monitor expenditures against budget on a monthly
  • In conjunction with HR and the Commercial Director, lead organizational planning and recruitment efforts for the
  • Create and evaluate against clear, appropriate targets for the sales force and other departmental employees as
  • Lead Performance Management programs in line with guidance from
  • Actively provide hands-on guidance to help develop team members, and organize formal training plans together with

REQUIRED SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a Business-Related course (preferred).
  2. At least 10 years of Sales Management experience in an FMCG or a related industry, which must include 4 years leading a sales
  3. Proven work experience in a corporate/multinational working
  4. Action and detail-oriented, having a drive for
  5. Working knowledge of sales and marketing in a competitive
  6. Excellent product knowledge with ability to provide detailed product
  7. Proven ability to increase profitability through key accounts and put in a place an effective revenue cycle
